Maya Pope-Chappell, Senior News Editor, Video Producer, Storyteller, LinkedIn
As a senior news editor at LinkedIn, Maya creates, curates and cultivates content and conversations for the world's largest professional social network. She oversee editorial projects and initiatives, produce original content, and work with some of the biggest names in industry and experts to publish and share on LinkedIn. She also built and launched LinkedIn's Campus Editor Program which has scaled globally to help bring #StudentVoices and perspectives to LinkedIn, while also helping students launch their careers.

 

Jackie Emerson, actress (The Hunger Games, The Well), recording artist, TEDx Speaker
Jacqueline "Jackie" Emerson is an actress (The Hunger Games, The Well), recording artist, TEDx Speaker, voice-over artist, former ambassador for the China Institute, and the former host/producer of the She's So Boss movement-a multimedia brand that helps girls to discover their own inner boss. She was profiled in OWN's digital series, "Who Am I," and was named as one of Business Insider's "15 Incredible Students Attending Stanford University."

 

Gene Finley IV, Founder, Chocolate Chip Media
Chocolate Media Company, Co. is an early stage media startup-up. The vision is to produce thought provoking, conversation starting, and empathy inducing content -- bridging the gap between histories, cultures, and experiences. Gene loves building businesses, developing strategies, and solving the hardest problems, with growth and scale in mind.

 

Natasha Deganello Giraudie, Independent Filmmaker & Founder, Micro-Documentaries
Natasha enjoys advancing humanitarian and environmental movements in a multi-passionate way. She is currently co-directing One Word, a series of short films sponsored by Robert Redford through the Redford Center, with indigenous youth who share stories related to one word of their ancestral language which contain medicine for reversing the climate crisis. As a pioneer of the micro-documentary genre, she has helped purpose-driven leaders in more than 30 countries advance their visions for a better tomorrow through compelling filmmaking and strategic distribution.

 

JJ Harris, Founder & Creative Director, TechBoogie
JJ Harris is a media producer with a passion for heartfelt storytelling. His company TechBoogie is a media firm that utilizes film and photography to bring untold stories into internet glory. Our style of media production is diverse, polished, and uplifting. Clients include Super Bowl 50 Host Committee, Facebook, Google, Yelp, Impact Hub Oakland, Black Girls Code, Red Bay Coffee, and Girls in Tech.

 

Kristin Hull, Founder & CEO, Nia Impact Capital
Kristin Hull is a conscious investor empowering individuals, families and organizations to invest in alignment with their values, for the world they want to see. Kristin launched Nia Global Solutions in 2013 to bring activism and impact investing into the public markets. Kristin founded Nia Community Investments in 2010, a 100% mission-aligned investment fund focused on social justice and environmental sustainability in Oakland.

 

Paul J. Lynch, Founder & CEO, Cage Free Productions
At his core, Paul j Lynch is an activist/artist/academic. A purveyor of stories that shape our world, an advocate for change, and a lover of nature is one way to sum him up. Paul utilizes the power of story to solve problems, build awareness, and inspire change for the social sector. The manifestation of this work lives in Cage Free Productions, a storytelling agency he founded to uphold social justice, human rights, and sustainability principles with the power of Human-Centered Production. Throughout the years, Paul struck the delicate balance between working in a studio agency setting and in some of the harshest disaster and/or war-torn areas of the world, all in an effort to build The Vision of the Movement. David Jackson, CEO, Impact Hub Oakland
David Jackson is an Oakland native with a passion for social entrepreneurship and social justice. David has been a lifelong entrepreneur, starting his first business at age nine (a lucrative lemonade stand), and ultimately owning and managing a group of seven independent bookstores for a decade. With over twenty years of experience in entrepreneurship, business development, fundraising, management, and nonprofits, he is excited to serve as the CEO of Impact Hub Oakland, to continue the advancement of an entrepreneurial community and co-working space that creates solutions that work for all.

 

Ace Johnson, Founder, iVisionary Academy & Events Production Manager, Impact Hub Oakland
Eugene “Ace” Johnson is an Oakland native who continues to develop his craft as a public speaker, spoken word artist, and lyricists; creating a career in teaching individuals the power in discovering, developing, and deploying their natural gifts and talents to evoke positive change. Ace Johnson is the founder of 501c3 Non Profit, iVisionary Academy and has developed a curriculum that uses the creative arts to teach leadership development and life skills to youth in underserved communities. Ace is passionate about holistic urban community development and has developed several programs dedicated to seeing people live out their full potential within these communities. Ace curates Think Tank spaces for young creatives of color to co-create solutions to advance their personal business and positively impact the world.

 

Lynn Johnson, Co-Founder & CEO, Spotlight:Girls
Lynn Johnson is a visionary entrepreneur, speaker, girl advocate, and Co-Founder/CEO of Spotlight: Girls – a certified B Corp that inspires, educates, and activates girls & women to take center stage. A multi-media platform and summer camp, Spotlight: Girls gives girls the skills to step into their light and become the leaders we’ve all been waiting for. Lynn is a sought-after speaker and facilitator, her work has been recognized by Ashoka Changemakers, SheEO, and ICA Fund Good Jobs. Lynn is the very first recipient of the Force for Good Fund, an accelerator focused on women/people-of-color entrepreneurs growing best-for-the world businesses.

 

Niema Jordan, Content Creator, Producer, Marketing Expert
Niema Jordan is a writer, director, and producer from Oakland, Calif. She began her career in media as an undergraduate at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism studying magazine writing and editing. She went on to be a health editor at ESSENCE magazine and to write for several print and digital publications. She has worked on social media strategy for entrepreneurs, produced a music festival, and serves on the board of directors for Camp Reel Stories. Niema received her Master of Public Health and Master of Journalism from University of California, Berkeley. Her thesis film, Oasis, won the Spike Lee Student Filmmaker Award at the 38th Denver Film Festival and was an official selection at the APHA Global Public Health Film Festival.

 

Caroline Miranda, Founder, Cultivating Capital
Carolina Miranda is the founder of Cultivating Capital, a Certified California Green Business and B Corp that works with small businesses to implement sustainable business practices. As a Green Business, Sustainability, and B Corp Consultant, she has worked with hundreds of organizations to get certified, reduce waste, conserve resources, engage employees, and establish 5-year sustainability action plans. She specializes in helping small businesses align their business with their values by implementing best practices for positive social and environmental impact.

 

Valerie Red-Horse Mohl, Executive Director, Social Venture Circle
Valerie Red-Horse Mohl, of Cherokee ancestry, is the Executive Director of Social Venture Circle, a non-profit organization with over three decades of combined experience leading the way in the field of social impact; building and galvanizing the business world to create social, economic, and environmental change. She is also the owner/founder of Red-Horse Financial Group, Inc., and has more than 30 years of in-depth experience in the financial services and investment banking industry with a unique expertise in the tribal government sector. In addition, she is also the owner/founder of Red-Horse Native Productions, Inc., a film and television production company primarily focused on bringing important social impact documentaries to the screen for which she produces, writes and directs.

 

Tushar Prabhu, Director of Organic Marketing, Position2
Tushar is the head of the Organic Marketing division of Position2, a full-service Demand Acceleration agency, based in Santa Clara. He manages teams across SEO, Organic Social Media, and Content in the US and in India. Tushar has spoken about organic marketing at a number of industry events and taught classes at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and The Santa Clara University. He is the pioneer of the “Predictive Content” methodology and the chief architect of two SEO related products.

 

Dianna Tremblay, Director of Acceleration, ICA Fund Good Jobs
Dianna is an Oakland native and currently the Director of Acceleration at ICA Fund Good Jobs. Dianna is responsible for scaling the impact of ICA programs and cultivating the support and capital ecosystem necessary for entrepreneurs to scale their businesses and grow their impact. With over ten years of experience working in and with small businesses, she believes they are the fuel of our economy and the most effective change-makers in creating an economy that works for all.
